From the back of the album:
The Concert Band has been organized since 1911. The present membership is seventy. This membership is chosen by audition, and represents many states. Twenty-five of the performers are music majors. The other members are preparing for various professional careers, or Christian service, and participate in the Band because its functions meet their interest in the fine arts. The Band is distinctly Christian in its beliefs and practices. Its purpose is to provide musical training for its membership and to present enjoyable programs of both sacred and secular music to the public.
