Jaguar and puma are the largest predators in Mesoamerica and share both habitat and prey. To understand how they coexist, I explored interspecific competition and avoidance by conducting occupancy analyses on camera trap data from Costa Rica. The results offer insights into the role of spatial segregation between these top predators.
